About the Event
As we begin 2024, join Alaina Crystal, a coach focused on helping women reconnect with their innate power, on this inspiring walk. Take this opportunity at the start of the new year to connect with yourself, your community, and your natural environment. Featuring coaching with Alaina, as well as moments of sharing and meditation, this wellness walk can help you welcome in the new year with a sense of groundedness.
We’ll begin at Shala with an opening circle to forge connections amongst the group, then set out for an easy two-hour walk on level terrain, with a tea stop midway. We’ll reconvene back at Shala to warm up and check out, with an option to head to Walpole Tidal Pool for a cold water swim afterwards.
Some elements that may be included:
● Silent walking / forest bathing
● Paired listening exercise
● Noticing exercise
● 1:1 coaching - throughout the walk, a chance to walk with Alaina and receive some coaching
Hike Date and Times:

9.30am-12.30pm
9:30 - Arrive at Shala to check in
10:00 - Group leaves from Shala
12:00 - Return to Shala, check out
12:30 - Session finishes with an invitation to cold water swim at Walpole Bay (tides permitting)
*This will take place rain or shine, so please do prepare with sturdy boots, layers, and waterproofs if necessary. If the Met Office issues a weather warning, we will notify you of any changes in plan.
*Please note that this hike aims to be as accessible as possible, but that it may incorporate some surfaces which are less smooth and stable. Do get in touch with Shala if you have any questions on the hike terrain.
About Alaina
Alaina is an Integral Development coach, creative communications strategist and committed feminist with over twelve years’ experience working to make the world a better place for women, girls and non-binary people. Others have described her as a problem solver, empathetic facilitator and a force of positivity. Based in Broadstairs, she runs a consultancy devoted to improving gender equity outcomes for everyone, and spends time swimming in the sea, attending punk shows, and hanging out with her beloved cat Gloria.
