Private Hypnobirthing Sessions
Congratulations on your pregnancy, it'd be an honour to share the Hypnobirthing knowledge and practices with you. These 2 x 3 hour sessions, with you and your birth partner, are a chance to immerse yourself in preparation for your birth with the person who'll be there with you on the day. Hypnobirthing’s huge surge in popularity in recent years, and the accreditation of my school of Hypnobirthing (Mindful Mamma) from the Royal College of Midwives - shows how these approaches have supported many women to have births that have the potential to be calmer, shorter and where women feel more in control.
This course offers you a toolkit of techniques and knowledge/wisdom so that you feel at your most empowered and calmly excited for your birth. Hypnobirthing offers a great balance of cerebral, scientific knowledge, mindset preparation and practical advice, balanced with techniques which help slow down the mind, master the breath, come into deep states of relaxation, calm our nervous system and access an internal space that will prepare us well for birth.
With my background as a Yoga Therapist/`Breathworker, I have witnessed how the capacity to access these deep states of relaxation can be a gamechanger in birth, as when we can slow the mind down and the body can take over and work with the baby in an intuitive way then the whole process can be much simplified.
I teach these methods through practice – feeling these calming states in the body again and again so you can embody them in the lead up to and during your birth.
What Is Hypnobirthing?
Hypnobirthing is as much a philosophy as it is a set of practices. Ultimately it is about supporting you and your partner to bring your child into the world in as natural a way as possible (equally recognising that intervention is sometimes essential and welcomed). It is about supporting you to trust in your birthing instincts and supporting your partners to know there is so much they can do to support you.
It has its roots in science and offers you sound understanding of the process of birth. This is alongside a variety of techniques and practices that include breathing techniques, deep relaxations, visualisations, self hypnosis, affirmations, meditation, and practical exercises with your partner (e.g. massage).
We’ll work on moving past anything which is holding you back and look at ways to create/develop a positive mindset in preparation for your birth. Your birth partner can be so valuable during birthing so they will be offered practical and emotional ways to support you. Doing this preparation together often means couples feel even more bonded and on the same page for their birth.
